Elena Hofferberth is a postdoctoral researcher at UNIL. In her research, she explores macroeconomic and political-economy challenges and possibilities in a post-growth economy. Her focus within REAL is on post-growth policies, including monetary reform, monetary-fiscal coordination, and new modes of democratic ecological coordination of the macroeconomy. Elena holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Leeds. To her, degrowth and post-growth have the potential to become a new paradigm in both economics and the economy necessary to address contemporary social-ecological crises.

Her postdoctoral research is co-funded by the Swiss Network for International Studies through the project CliMacro: Alternative Macro-Financial Frameworks for Climate-Just and Post-Growth Futures.
