Bertie Russell is a postdoctoral researcher at ICTA-UAB. Bertie’s research focuses on the role of hybrid organizational forms in supporting an ecosocialist politics of transition. He has two forthcoming books: Radical Abundance: How to Win a Green Democratic Future (2025, Pluto Press, with Kai Heron and Keir Milburn) and Radical Municipalism: The Politics of the Common and the Democratization of Public Services (2026, Bristol University Press, edited with Iolanda Bianchi).
Bertie has published research in Antipode, Urban Studies, Environment and Planning A, City, and Area. He is also co-director of the action-research organisation Abundance, which promotes public-common strategies to democratise the economy and support a just ecological transition.
