Raúl Velasco-Fernández is a senior postdoctoral researcher at ICTA-UAB. With a transdisciplinary background in industrial engineering, sociology, and ecological economics, his research explores the complex relationships between energy, materials, and time use to comprehensively analyze societal metabolism.

He is an expert in MuSIASEM and is dedicated to developing tools and methods for the democratic governance of post-growth societies, with a focus on inequality and biophysical dimensions across different scales. Currently, his work focuses on studying the biophysical foundations of care and its unequal distribution, drawing on insights from materialist ecofeminism and imperialism studies.
